Athena (Advanced Technology Higher Education Network Alliance) is a consortium of universities from 7 different European countries that aims to provide excellent education and a positive impact on research, improving youth employment and social progress at national and European level, bringing together resources and strengths from all the universities involved. The project aims to create a European university, which can be operational by 2023.
Purpose: Promote a more united and open Europe to the world, bringing together a new generation of Europeans able to cooperate within different cultures and languages and improve the quality, performance and international competitiveness of universities through innovative teaching paths.
Results: Create an inclusive, innovative and quality international education, connected with the needs of the global market, able to face social and environmental challenges, to support European research priorities while guaranteeing the highest standards.
